Their journey began in February with 40 students across 8 teams, all exploring innovative solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. After a series of highly competitive rounds, 10 students advanced to the semi-finals, forming two standout teams who proudly represented Lambeth at borough level. One of these teams went on to secure the borough trophy for Lambeth, before progressing to the grand finals held this month.

At the London-wide finals, EGA competed against top teams from across the capital, including schools from Hillingdon, Greenwich, Barnet, Southwark, and Westminster. The competition categories included fashion, transport, life sciences, and consumer health – all with a sustainability focus.

Our winning team – Sustain-a-cast – dazzled the judging panel with their creativity, professionalism, and innovation. The team members are:

  • Kadijah – Chief Executive Officer

  • Chinonso – Financial Director

  • Sahil – Brand Ambassador

  • Bianca – Product Manager

  • Alex – Environmental Scientist

Their outstanding performance earned them: a trophy, medals & certificates, £300 cash prize, ongoing mentorship & business opportunities as well as special recognition from the Deputy Mayor of London, Mete Coban MBE who took time to speak with and congratulate the team personally.

We would like to thank everyone who supported these students along the way – staff, mentors, and families. Your encouragement made this achievement possible.
