Curriculum Intent
The CPSHE curriculum prepares our students to be the voice of their future. The purpose of this curriculum is to prepare all of our students with the skills and knowledge needed over and above that contained within our academic curriculum so that they can thrive as they journey through life; at school and beyond. We believe that one of the most important elements of a young person’s education is the opportunities provided which help them to develop personally, these are essential if we are going to ensure that our students are happy and able to achieve success in a challenging, complex and changing world. Our ever-evolving and reflective Personal Development curriculum seeks to support and guide students to navigate and develop all aspects of their character, whilst being respectful of others. Our programme is underpinned by our five school values; Community, Professionalism, Integrity, Ambition and Perseverance; and through our programme, students learn how to understand these values, debate them and demonstrate them in everything that they do. This in itself, supports students' appreciation of British values – their spiritual moral social and cultural development Our programme exposes students to many of the great people that have shaped the world we live in; the best that has been thought and the best that has been said. These people hail from a wide range backgrounds, and at all times the programme seeks to promote diversity and advocate respect for protected characteristics. It provides our students with opportunities to flourish as leaders and offers a wide range of opportunities inside and outside of the school that spark passion, interest and a thirst for life and learning. It allows space for healthy discussion and debate as well as providing support, guidance and learning around wellbeing, relationships and safety. Our programme aims to ensure that every student at Evelyn Grace Academy School develops independent characters - someone that is the best, most authentic version of themselves. We hope that, through this process, students can obtain the cultural capital that will allow them to build a happy, fulfilled and successful life for themselves beyond Evelyn Grace Academy School.

Citizenship, Health, Sex and Relationships Education is taught in bespoke lessons throughout the pastoral curriculum. This includes tutor time, assemblies, drop down days and the work we do with external partners such as Brook. We run a full democratic school council programme which all students are involved in teaching them the values of fairness, justice, respect, rule of law and democracy.
