A-Level students at Evelyn Grace Academy celebrate some great results!

We would like to say a huge congratulations to our A-Level students for achieving some fantastic results!

The percentage of students achieving at least three A*-B grades has doubled this year, as has the percentage of students achieving at least three A*-C grades.

Jessica Pereira Rodrigues, got an A* in Spanish, an A* in Portuguese, an A in Chemistry, an A in Biology and a B in Mathematics and is set to take up a place studying Medicine at St. Mary’s University.

Jessica has always been one of our hardest working students and is a shining example of our Academy’s core values. She is an incredibly self-disciplined and motivated young woman, who set herself a target of studying medicine and did not allow any barrier to stop her from moving forward and achieving her goal.  At times, it was difficult to keep motivated as medicine is very competitive, but Jessica acted as role model to all of her peers by continuing to work, to study and – perhaps most importantly – to keep smiling!

Marcus Gooden-Husbands, got an A in Mathematics, an A in Religious Education and a B in Government & Politics is due to read Philosophy at King’s College University.

Marcus is a quiet, studious and hardworking individual who has achieved his goal by steadfastly working and studying in a self-disciplined and mature manner that belies his young years. A Brixton resident his whole life, Marcus avoids the temptations of the streets and instead engages his mental energy on developing a philosophical outlook on life.

Donalyn Parocha Agbuggo also secured some very strong A Level results, getting an A* in Portuguese, an A in Mathematics and a B in Biology. She has a place at Newcastle University to study Accounting and Finance.

Donalyn is a great example of what can be achieved with calm focus, a strong work ethic and a clear goal in mind. She followed her secondary educated in Spain and only arrived in England two years ago – to achieve these results in a language that is not her mother-tongue is an incredible achievement and stands as a testament to her desire to achieve excellence.

Evelyn Grace Academy’s Principal, Tim Dainty said: “I am immensely proud of what has been achieved this year. It is fantastic to see both our students’ and teachers’ hard work and endeavour pay off on results day. Our drive for excellence has helped our students secure some very strong results that enable them to go on to university or compete for the very best positions in their chosen career.”
