Daily Routines

Morning Arrival

  • 07.45: Breakfast Club, Preschool classes e.g. Mandarin and Year 11 Study Base Open
  • 08.00: Site open to all students
  • 08.20: First Whistle for Morning Arrival line-up on MUGAs
  • 08.25: Second Whistle, gates close and silence + hands up for Morning Arrival. Tutors and DOLs supervise silent line moving to Tutor Periods/Assembly.

Assembly

  • Students arrive in silent tutor group lines and stand behind seats until all present
  • All students say the EGA Pledge
  • Students sit
  • Students leave in silence, row by row as directed by the DOL.

Threshold

  • Teachers greet class at doorway (“Threshold”)
  • Students present Planners and equipment to access and start lesson
  • Teachers dismiss at the classroom door

Transition

  • Students walk quietly on the left-hand side of corridors (Green Line) and stairwells
  • Students are allowed up to 5 minutes to transition from lesson to lesson
  • Students are not allowed to use the central stairs without permission from a teacher e.g. updating Parent Pay at

Break

  • Students leave the building unless with a teacher or in the canteen
  • Students enter the canteen via the maths corridor
  • All food and drink purchased is consumed in the canteen
  • Students exit via the English corridor

Lunch

  • Students leave the building unless with a teacher or in the dining areas
  • KS3 students use 1st floor dining
  • KS4 students use 3rd floor dining
  • All food and drink purchased is consumed in the canteen
  • Corridor Detentions 12.45 to 13.05 in Room 3.08

Afternoon Arrival

  • 13.15: First Whistle for Afternoon Arrival line-up on MUGAs
  • 13.20: Second Whistle, silent line with hands raise; planners and equipment out. DOLs direct each teaching group to teacher; enter building by subject doors in silent lines.

Central Detention

  • Detainees escorted/directed to hall and stay in silence throughout.
  • Same day detentions which can accumulate up to 90 minutes (4.45 pm)
