Year 8 students win IOE Young photographers’ competition
Out of 136 individual entries from 90 different schools both in the UK and abroad, students at Ark Evelyn Grace Academy have won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the 2019 UCLs IOE Young photographers’ competition.
Julian Castro won first place prize in the Young China category (under 14s) for this picture:
Kiara Buchanan took second place in the same category for the below picture:
and Oliwier Slomsky took third place in the people of China category for the following picture:
Their photographs were taken during their visit to China earlier this year as part of their Mandarin studies through the Mandarin Excellence Programme run by UCL Institute of Education (in partnership with the British Council). Their winning pictures will be exhibited early next year at UCL in central London.
