UPDATE: Vouchers for students entitled to Free School Meals

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing further to the letter dated 24th March 2020 to provide you with an update on how to access funds for Free School Meals (FSM). Our original plan was to work with Tesco to provide e-vouchers direct to you.

However, the Department for Education has been working with the leading supermarkets to set up a national voucher scheme and this is now ready to be implemented to start after the Easter holidays. The value of the vouchers will be £15 per week equivalent to £3 per day.

We will upload your details to a portal set up by a company called Edenred. The information we will provide will be the name and email address of the main parent or carer contact for each student entitled to FSM. They will receive an eCode from the Edenred system directly to email with instructions on how to create an eGift card. This should be ready to use within three hours.

The scheme allows you to choose from any of the following supermarkets:

We will need to produce paper vouchers at school to be posted to the homes of the small number of parents that we do not hold email addresses for. Paper vouchers are not usable at all the above supermarkets and so we will need to select the supermarket on your behalf. We will be using Tesco as there are several stores in the Brixton area.

However, we would prefer to do this completely via email for three reasons:

1. The first is that you will have more flexibility on where you choose to shop.
2. The second is that you will receive your voucher significantly quicker via email.
3. The third is that Evelyn Grace Academy staff will need to travel into school to print and post these to home addresses. We would like to avoid this wherever
possible to keep the team safe.

If you have received this letter via a text with a link to our website, we do not have an email address for you. We would really appreciate your support on this by sending your email address to me on russell.dunscombe@evelyngraceacademy.org.

Please do let me know if you have any questions. Stay safe and look after yourselves and your families.

Yours sincerely,

Russell Dunscombe
Operations Manager
