Highlights from our Year 7 Induction Day - Welcome to Ark Evelyn Grace
On Tuesday 1st September 2020, our school doors reopened to welcome all our new Year 7 students to the academy for their first official induction day.
The induction day was split into three sessions (allowing us to safely accommodate our new students with their parents and carers) and lasted for an hour.
We had 90% attendance overall from the year group and 100% attendance from all who pre-registered before hand. It was a great turnout!
Most students came smartly dressed in their full school uniform (even though this was not compulsory), it was a testament to their excitement towards starting secondary school with us.
We were so pleased to meet our new students and can’t wait to meet those that were unable to attend. We look forward to seeing all our new students again on the first day of term (Monday 7th September 2020, 8am).
As part of the induction day, our new Year 7s met our senior leadership team and key members of staff. They were given important information and further reassurance of our commitment towards ensuring a smooth transition. The full live stream of the first session can be watched below and the powerpoint presentation shared for each session can also be viewed below.
Each student was also given their own reading book from one of the following three titles as a lovely welcome gift:
- Lisa Thompson - the Goldfish Boy
- Ross Welford - 1000 year old Boy
- Ghost - Jason Reynolds
- Malorie Blackman - a Dangerous Game
Happy reading Year 7!
Thank you to all our new students, including their parents and carers for attending. It was lovely to meet you all! Welcome to our school.
