Best ever A level results for students at Ark Evelyn Grace Academy!!

Evelyn Grace Academy is celebrating its best-ever A level results, as the number of students achieving the top grades has risen yet again.

The percentage of students achieving at least three A*-B grades has doubled this year, as has the percentage of students achieving at least three A*-C grades.

Jessica Pereira Rodrigues, who got an A* in Spanish, an A* in Portuguese, an A in Chemistry, an A in Biology and a B in Mathematics will be studying Medicine at St. Mary’s University. Jessica has always been one of our hardest working students and is a shining example of our Academy’s core values. She is our first student to go on and study Medicine. She is an incredibly self-disciplined and motivated young woman who was never daunted by how competitive medicine is. She has acted as a role model to all of her peers by continuing to work, study and – perhaps most importantly – keep smiling!

Another student, Marcus Gooden-Husbands, who got an A in Mathematics, an A in Religious Education and a B in Government & Politics, will now read Philosophy at King’s College. Marcus has been awarded fully-funded accommodation at an Urbanest student property for three years at university and £1800 per year of his course.

Marcus is a quiet, studious and hardworking individual who has achieved his goals by steadfastly working and studying in a self-disciplined and mature manner. A Brixton resident his whole life, Marcus has avoided distractions and has remained determined to achieve his goal of going to a top university.

Donnalyn Parocha Agbuggo also secured some very strong A Level results, getting an A* in Portuguese, an A in Mathematics and a B in Biology. She has a place at Newcastle University to study Accounting and Finance. She was also awarded a Marshall Wace First Year Bursary of £3,000. Donnalyn was studying in Spain up until she was 16 years old. She therefore arrived in England only two years ago and to achieve these results in a language that is not her mother-tongue is an incredible achievement and stands as a testament to her desire to secure excellence.

Evelyn Grace Academy’s Principal, Tim Dainty said: “I am immensely proud of what has been achieved this year. It is fantastic to see both our students’ and teachers’ hard work and endeavour pay off on results day. Our drive for excellence has helped our students secure some very strong results that enable them to go on to university or compete for the very best positions in their chosen career.”
