Year 7 Catch-Up Premium

Year 7 catch-up Premium Policy

“Our mission is to create an outstanding Academy for our students who will become the leaders of tomorrow in every walk of life.

We will do what it takes to give every student the knowledge, skills, self-belief and motivation to be successful in their learning.”

The effective use of the year 7 Catch-Up premium grant involves all elements of our mission statement and core values. At Evelyn Grace Academy, ALL students, including the most severely disadvantaged and highly gifted, are regarded as unique individuals and receive both challenge and support designed to meet their needs.

All pupils can and will succeed at our Academy. We passionately believe that education plays a powerful and transformative role in improving life chances. We aim to do what it takes to remove any barriers that stand in the way of pupils achieving an outstanding education. As such, our main purpose is to focus on closing the gaps in achievement and attainment that may exist for different groups of pupils in our school.

INTRODUCTION

The government provides additional funding to schools for each Year 7 pupil who did not achieve at least Level 4 in the Key Stage 2 national curriculum tests in Reading and/or Mathematics.

The purpose of this funding is to enable schools to deliver additional support, such as individualised intervention programmes or intensive support in small groups, for those pupils that most need it.

Please refer to our report below showing how we use this additional funding and the outcomes for the pupils.

USE of year 7 catch-up Premium Grant report

Our year 7 Catch-Up Premium Grant is used to provide a range of additional support for our pupils and these interventions have a significant impact on pupil’s progress, attainment and wellbeing.
