PTA Meeting held Wednesday 14th December 2016
We had a well-attended very positive Parent Forum meeting this evening with parents of students in all year groups attending. Those participating had an opportunity to ask Miss Thompson questions about our assessment cycle and the new grading system. Parents also shared some thoughts about talking through reports with their children when they receive them at home so that they can better support their children with preparation for the term ahead and the next set of assessments.
Our parents were able to meet our Chair of Governors, Mr Richard De Friend; and find out more about the role of our governors. They were also told that there will be an opportunity to become a parent governor in the new year.
The group also touched on some safeguarding issues related to ESafety and in particular monitoring how children use social networking sites. How we are addressing the Prevent agenda in school was also discussed and parents took away the two leaflets:
The meeting was also an opportunity to promote our High School Musical production that will be taking place Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th December 2016, here at the academy.
The next Parent Forum meeting will be on Wednesday 1st February 2017 and the theme for this meeting will be Careers Education and our Safer Schools Partnership.
We look forward to seeing you.
