EGA Welcomes Chinese Delegation

Chinese delegation lunch

Evelyn Grace Academy welcomed a delegation of Chinese Principals and their translator on Wednesday 21 October.  The visitors from various schools in the Jiansgu province in China visited us to find out more about what we offer our students.

Evelyn Grace Academy Principal, Mr Hanson, welcomed the delegation who visited various classes in action throughout the day.  They visited Mr King is a Year 7 History class, Mr Charway in  Year 12 Maths class, Ms Edney in a Year 11 Geography class, Ms Sun in a Year 7 Mandarin class and Ms Ukonu in a Year 9 RE class.  Ms Sun's class treated our guests to some songs in Mandarin and spoke to our guests about their lesson.

The delegation joined students for lunch and then took part in our daily Drop Everything and Read session in which all students read together from a set text in small groups.  As the guests departed, Mr Hanson said "We are incredibly proud of our global ties and welcome the opportunity for visitors to see our wonderful students in action.  We are particularly proud of our GCSE Mandarin programme which last year gained 100% A*-C grades and I'm pleased our visitors were able to participate in a Mandarin class."
