GCSE Success for students at Ark Evelyn Grace Academy
Evelyn Grace Academy Principal, Tim Dainty said: “I am very proud of the endeavour of staff and students at Evelyn Grace. These results prove once again that there can be no substitute for hard work. The high expectations we have has helped many of our students secure some great results that enable them to go on and pursue the career of their choice.”
Among Evelyn Grace’s strongest performers in this year’s GCSEs were:
Tioluwani Ajao, who got six grade 9s in English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Geography and History; 3 grade 8s in English Language, Physics and Drama, an A grade in Media and a grade 7 in Spanish.
“I haven’t taken it all in yet! My family will be so proud. My teachers have helped me all the way. Next year, I want to study biology, chemistry and history. I want to be a dietician.”
Mariam Abimbola, who got three grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry and RE; five grade 8s in Maths, English Literature, Drama, Geography and History; and a 7 in Physics and English Language.
“I’m feeling so good! I definitely didn’t expect to do this well! I had to double check that it was my results! I’ve had so many memorable experiences at EGA, my teachers have always given me confidence.”
Alan Wu, who got five grade 8s in English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics; an A* in Mandarin, two grade 7s in Computer Science and History as well as two grade As in Media studies and Business Studies.
“I’m really happy – I didn’t expect to do this well. The school always pushed me to do my best. I’m looking forward to celebrating with my friends this afternoon.”
Lorena Guteirrez, who got one grade 9 in Spanish; four grade 8s in English Language, Mathematics, History and French; an A* in Mandarin; five grade 7s in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Art and Computer Science; and a Grade 6 in English Literature.
Rebecca Wells, who got two grade 8s in Biology and History; 6 grade 7s in English, Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science; and two grade As in Media Studies and Mandarin.
Emmanuella Sarpong, who got two grade 8s in Chemistry and Food; five grade 7s in English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Geography; and two grade 6s in English Language and PE GCSE.
“I was excited results day was finally here. I’m just feeling so thankful that I achieved these grades. My teachers have always been there for me and encouraged me. Support-wise, they couldn’t have done anything else. It’s great having my twin brother at school, he always keeps me going.”
Moncef Elmarzak, who got one grade 9 in Mathematics, one grade 8 in English Language; six grade 7s in Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Geography, RE and Spanish; and two grade 6s in English Literature and Biology.
“I’m very proud of myself. I was feeling excited and nervous at the same time last night – I didn’t get much sleep. My family will be so pleased, they know how much hard work I’ve put in to achieve this.”
Nawal Abukar, who got one grade 9 in RE; three grade 8s in English Literature, Mathematics and Biology; four grade 7s in Chemistry, Physics, Drama and Geography; and two grade 6s in English Language and Spanish.
Kane Kesler, who got a grade 9 in Physics; two grade 8s in English Literature and RE; three grade 7s in Mathematics, Chemistry, Music, an A in Mandarin and two grade 6s in Biology and Geography.
