We monitor our student’s planners every week and, when we see your signature, we know that we are supporting each other with your child’s education.
Year 11, Entry Pathway students visit Love Walk Residential Care Home
On Monday 06th February 2017, our Year 11 entry pathway students visited Love Walk residential care home where they spent sometime with residents speaking to them and playing games.
Our students were well behaved and enjoyed spending time with the residents they met.
Penny Brice, Activity Co-ordinator at Mission Care said "Thank you so much for coming! I thought it was a great session, and the residents here agreed. I was really impressed with the students – they really engaged with our residents – talking to them, being interested in them, asking questions and playing games. It was lovely to stand back and watch a room full of people all talking and laughing and at ease with each other. I spoke to our residents afterwards and they really enjoyed meeting you all – they love meeting young people and finding out about their lives, and talking about their own experiences. I think it was genuinely beneficial for both groups to meet each other, and hope your group enjoyed it. We would be very happy to welcome groups from Evelyn Grace Academy again – it was a pleasure to meet you all."
Love Walk is a residential care home for 20-30 younger adults with physical disabilities mainly, with some suffering cognitive impairments, early onset dementia or with a learning disability. All have needs that mean that they find it difficult to live independently following an accident or injury or illness. The home is run by Mission Care, a Christian charity who also run 4 other nursing homes in the Bromley area.
Mission Care have recently opened a new dementia friendly café in the heart of Bromley. It is a warm and welcoming place for everyone to visit and relax with good coffee, cakes and sandwiches. The design and focus of the café is to provide a safe, friendly and comfortable place for those living with dementia, and their supporters to enjoy time together.

A special 'Thank You' to Ms Baawa and Mr Beckford, who organised and supported our students on this trip.
