Year 7 & Year 8 Girls impress in Handball and Basketball tournaments

Year 7 Girls - Basketball Team

The Year 7 Girls had their first Jnr NBA basketball matches last night, representing the LA Lakers this year! The first match was against The Bow School who our Year 7’s easily beat 14-2! The second match was against Bishop Thomas Grant who they again beat 12-2! Considering this was the girls first competitive match they played excellently and their teamwork and resilience was outstanding! Star player was Monique Robinson who scored at least 20 out of the 26 points in the two games!

Year 8 Girls - Handball Team

The year 8 girls competed in the Sainsbury’s School Games Lambeth Handball competition last Tuesday at City Heights Academy. They played against tough competition including; City Heights, The Norwood School and Oasis South Bank. The girls played excellently considering we have only been covering handball for the last 3 weeks during PE lessons. They had won every game until it came to face The Norwood School which would be our toughest competition. They narrowly lost 1-0 which resulted in 2nd place and a Silver medal in the tournament. Star player was Sade Murray who showed incredible talent in this new sport!

Well done to both teams, we are extremly proud of you!!!
